Ordeal by Roses was inspired by one of Eikoh Hosoe’s photographs of Yukio Mishima, who in 1970 committed Sepukku (ritual suicide by disembowelment)

Ordeal by Roses was produced for and first screened at ACT 01 at the 291 Gallery, London 2003

Subsequently it has been screened at CAC, Vilnius, Lithuania, (2003); Videoex Festival, Zurich, Switzerland; Move with Movies, Vilnius, Lithuania (2004); Mix Up at The Great Eastern Hotel, London (2005); I Want To Suck Your Bones, Cinema Loblo, Lausanne, Switzerland and Homoccult & Other Esoterotica at the MIX Festival, New York City, USA (2007) Collective Unconscious, New York City (2008), OUTFEST Platinum section, Los Angeles, YBCA, San Francisco, Cineteca Nacional, Mexico City, The Horse Hospital, London, Museo MADRe, Naples (2009) Fully Flared Film Festival, Berlin, Antimatter Film Festival, British Columbia, Canada (2010) and Mise au Jeu, Montreal, Canada (2011)
