A love poem written by the body, an exercise in self-objectification, a tableau mort. Visceral and corporeal, Valentine combines images of overblown romanticism with abject carnality

This short performance was first devised for the Centre of Attention in December 2002, in a programme also featuring work by Franko B, Tim Etchells and Genesis P. Orridge

It was later substantially reworked for The Body of at the Florence Trust, curated by Cherrie Smith in July 2003

Video documentation of the original performances was included in the annual Centre of Attention Video Magazine, screened at the Lux Open, Royal College of Art & The Hung Drawn & Quartered Festival; the video has also been screened at The X-travagent Performance Festival, Century Gallery; ACT 01, 291 Gallery, London and Nordland Kunst - og Filmskole, Norway
